MIHO LAPIN — Brand Concept
MIHO LAPIN is a Japanese wearable-art brand built on over 35 years of hand-knitting practice and craftsmanship.
Each piece is handmade using original techniques refined over decades. Rather than following trends or mass production, MIHO LAPIN focuses on creating limited, one-of-a-kind garments that blend artistic expression, technical skill, and everyday comfort.
Inspired by Japanese daily life, local culture, and the beauty of handmade work, each creation is designed to be worn, appreciated, and cherished for many years.
Our Story
The creator of MIHO LAPIN has practiced hand knitting since completing formal studies in 1991.
Over this long journey, she has developed distinctive methods for combining colors, yarns, and knit structures. Her work is guided by intuition, experience, and a deep understanding of materials rather than industrial patterns or standardized production methods.
Several garments have been worn continuously for over 27 years, demonstrating exceptional durability and timeless design. These pieces embody the belief that handmade craftsmanship can create objects that accompany people throughout their lives.

Product Development
Every MIHO LAPIN piece begins with material experimentation.
Different yarns, colors, textures, and stitch structures are carefully combined to create unexpected visual effects and unique textile surfaces. Many works pair Japanese yarns with European fibers, creating a cross-cultural dialogue through knitting.
The result is not simply clothing, but wearable textile art that reflects the maker’s life, experience, and creativity.

Vision
MIHO LAPIN aims to share the value of Japanese handmade culture with the world.
Through wearable art, we seek to connect people across cultures and demonstrate that traditional craftsmanship continues to create beauty, meaning, and emotional value in the modern age.
By preserving techniques developed over decades while embracing artistic innovation, MIHO LAPIN hopes to build bridges between Japan and the wider world through the universal language of handmade creation.
